| Lizards cleanup the awards table at the 2005 Stayton 10k |
The Summer Series our annual intra-club competition to see how members stack up over a wide range of race distances and terrain. We try to target some of the best races offered in the area, so participating in the series is really just a good way to know where the cool kids are going to be on any given weekend And for many of the races, we'll also plan some fun post-race gatherings - like the ultra-popular BBQ following the Flat Half on July 4th
The top 10 finishers on both the mens and womens side receive a custom-designed commemorative t-shirt; but the series is really a fun way for us to get the Lizard masses out to some local races to enjoy comraderie and competition at the same time.

We're returning to the original scoring method this year:
Men and women will be separated for the scoring.
Scoring will be straight up this year, with only one list compiled for men and women based on finish order of Lizards. Last year we did a separate age-graded list, and it didn't make a difference in who the top 10 finishers were. The year before we provided a bonus for those completing all 8 of the races, but this year we've decided to focus the scoring based on performance alone.
The formula used to determine points scored in each race is (T-Y/T-1)*80+20
where T = the total number of club members in the race and
Y = your finishing place.
The first place man and woman will always get 100 points and the last place person will always get 20 points. Everyone else will be evenly spaced in between.
The best scores for 5 of the 8 races count.
Whether you can compete in only a few or all of the Summer Series races, this is a great way to get to know your fellow club members while having fun doing what we do!
